Wir lernen neue, schreckliche Worte auf englisch – oil spill, oil plume
Die Meereskundlerin Dr. Samantha Joye geht in ihrem Gulf Oil Blog auf wissenschaftliche Fragen zu den (Zwischen-)ergebnissen ihrer Forschungen ein. Interessant finde ich vor allem ihre Ausführungen zu den von BP eingesetzten Dispergentien (Formen von COREXIT), ihre Konzentrationen und Wirkungen auf das marine Ökosystem. BTW: “Some forms of COREXIT contain dangerous components (e.g. 2-Butoxyethanol) and COREXIT is more toxic to some organisms than crude oil.“…
